FROM WHERE THE MENTAL ADVENTURE SERIES ORIGINATES
A crazy idea popped into my head from the bumpy seat of a tractor cab, whilst busy working in the Lower Awatere Valley vineyards.
As I gazed up the valley to the majestic Mt Tapuae-o-uenuku, I suddenly had the conversation starting idea I had been looking for.
I had long been wanting to raise some funds and awareness around Mental Health, but I knew that to do it justice, and for it to get the attention that was needed around mental health, the idea had to be suitably unique.
The Idea was to ride a unicycle up the Awatere Valley, through the mountain passes and unsealed roads of New Zealands largest high country station, The Molesworth, and then pop out in Hanmer Springs 182kms later.
The only problem was, I had never ridden a unicycle before!
And so the learning process began.
After 9 months of learning, training and lot's of falling off. I was finally ready to tackle this seemingly impossible goal.
